Preparatory meeting of the 28th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum

In the period of February 17-18, 2020, the first preparatory meeting of the 28th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum on the topic “Promoting Security, Stability and Economic Growth in the OSCE area by Preventing and Combating Corruption through innovation, increased transparency and digitalization” was held in Vienna (Austria).

In the period of February 17-18, 2020, the first preparatory meeting of the 28th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum on the topic “Promoting Security, Stability and Economic Growth in the OSCE area by Preventing and Combating Corruption through innovation, increased transparency and digitalization” was held in Vienna (Austria).

The main goal of the forum was to stimulate political dialogue and develop recommendations for OSCE participants on resolving economic and environmental problems.

More than 400 representatives of state authorities, civil society, business circles and international organizations of the OSCE participating countries annually take part in this event.

Head of the Monitoring and Coordination of Open Data Portal Management Department Sultanov Akrom took part in this preparatory meeting from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

The meeting addressed the following issues:

  • On problems and opportunities in preventing corruption and combating it;
  • On the prevention of corruption and the fight against it through digitalization and increased transparency, as well as the development of open data “OpenData” and e-government;
  • On increased transparency through the declaration of property and the application of approaches with collective participation;
  • On combating corruption by improving good governance in the environmental sector through transparency and innovation.

The participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the above event, as well as the further development of the open data ecosystem in Uzbekistan, is provided by the OSCE Project Coordinator in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
